If there is a change to your situation, you must submit a new application

Some changes to your situation mean you will need to apply for a new residence permit. You must apply for a new residence permit:

• if you have a residence permit for a specific purpose of residence and this purpose changes, or
• if your personal situation changes, or
• if the situation of the person with whom your are residing changes.  

You must apply separately for a change to your residence permit. Call 0900 1234561 (€ 0.10 per minute) if you are not sure whether you are eligible or need to apply for a new residence permit as a result of a change. Do not use the application form for extension of a residence permit.
