Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (Centraal Orgaan opvang asielzoekers)
The Agency for the Reception of Asylum Seekers (COA) is an independent administrative agency that falls under the responsibility of the Ministry of Justice. During the asylum procedure the COA is responsible for the reception and housing of asylum seekers. The COA places asylum seekers in special centres or homes across  the Netherlands until their application for asylum has been decided.

National Agency of Correctional Institutions (Dienst Justitiële Inrichtingen)
The National Agency of Correctional Institutions (DJI) is the last link in the penal system. People who commit an offence may be arrested by the police. The court may then decide to order detention or a custodial measure. If sentenced, the person will be sent to one of DJI’s institutions.

Repatriation and Departure Service (Dienst Terugkeer & Vertrek, DT&V)

This executive agency focuses on achieving the (independent) return of foreign nationals who are residing unlawfully in the Netherlands.

Minorities Integration Policy Department (Directie Coördinatie Integratiebeleid Minderheden)
The integration policy is based on contributing to the realisation of a society in which members of ethnic minorities can participate actively and fully. 

Enforcement Department (Directie Handhaving)
The Enforcement Department advises the minister on enforcement  in general and in the field of penal enforcement in particular. 

Police Department 
The Police Department is part of the Directorate General for Public Order and Security (DGOOV). The DGOOV in turn is part of the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. 

Immigration Policy Department (Directie Vreemdelingenbeleid)
The Immigration Policy Department (DVB) develops the justice policy regarding immigration, naturalisation and the reception of asylum seekers, monitoring the Dutch borders.  

International Organisation for Migration (Internationale Organisatie voor Migratie)
IOM’s main target is the worldwide promotion of the orderly migration of people who need support in international migration.

Royal Military Constabulary (Koninklijke Marechaussee)
The Royal Military Constabulary (KMar) is best described as a police unit with military status. It falls under the Ministry of Defence, but also works for the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations.

Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties)
The Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) is responsible for a wide variety of tasks. These tasks are carried out in close cooperation with the municipalities, the provinces and the other ministries.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken)
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs plays a key role in the communication between the Dutch government and the governments of other countries and between the Dutch government and international organisations.

Ministry of Defence (Ministerie van Defensie)
The Dutch armed forces comprise the Royal Navy, the Royal Army, the Royal Air Force and the Royal Constabulary.

Council of State (Raad van State)
The Council of State performs an important advisory function as well as a justice administration function, carried out by its Administrative Jurisdiction Division (Afdeling bestuursrechtspraak).

Council for the Administration of Justice (Raad voor de Rechtspraak)
The Council for the Administration of Justice was established on 1 January 2002. The Council is a new institution within the judicial organisation and acts as a ‘buffer’ between the Minister of Justitie and the individual courts.

Councils for Legal Aid (Raden voor Rechtsbijstand)
Legal aid to lower income groups is specified in the Legal Aid Act (Wet op de Rechtsbijstand). Its implementation has been assigned to the councils for legal aid, and one has been established in every court jurisdiction.

Association of Netherlands Municipalities (Vereniging van Nederlandse Gemeenten)
The Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG) looks after the interests of, offers service to and provides a platform function for all municipalities. In addition, VNG carries out projects (often with departments or social organisations) that serve a communal interest.

Dutch Refugee Council (Vereniging VluchtelingenWerk Nederland)
The Dutch Refugee Council is the independent organisation that looks after the interest of refugees and asylum seekers in the Netherlands, from the moment they enter the country up to their integration in Dutch society.

Aliens police 
The tasks of the police force are set out in the Police Act (Politiewet). In short, this specifies that the police must ensure a safe and liveable environment, and provide help to people who need it. 

Foreign nationals division (Vreemdelingenkamer) of the The Hague Court
A foreign nationals division is part of the court. It deals solely with cases related to foreign nationals.

Centre for work and income
The centre for work and income (UWV WERKbedrijf) is an independent executive body (zelfstandig bestuursorgaan, ZBO) that operates under the authority of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment (Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid, SZW). The UWV WERKbedrijf is the meeting point for job seekers and employers. Job seekers can apply to the UWV WERKbedrijf for a work permit (tewerkstellingsvergunning, TWV) for foreign employees.
