Rapportage Vreemdelingenketen (Report on the Immigration Process)
Summary of policy, case law and the social debate
The Information and Analysis centre (INDIAC) of the IND is the national contact point for the European Migration Network (EMN), which is an initiative of the European Commission.
The role of the EMN is to collect and analyse the available information and to undertake research in order to support (European) policy developments. National contact points have also been designated in other EU Member States. A total of eight national contact points contributed to the Policy analysis report 2005. A comparison of all of these national reports has been produced in the form of a synthesis report.
Annual Policy Report 2008
The Annual Policy Report 2008 (Dutch/English, August 2009) is a comprehensive report on the development of migration and asylum issues in the Netherlands during the year 2008. All substantial changes that have been implemented in legislation with regard to asylum and migration are included, as well as the most important initiatives for planned future adaptations of legislation, such as the Modern Migration Policy and the review of the asylum procedure. Integration aspects are included, but only for as far as they are directly linked to migration. Furthermore, the report offers a full overview of the developments of European migration law on the subject of asylum and migration, including the status of cases per 31 December 2008. Thus, the Annual Policy Report offers a complete overview of the events in 2008.
